Director: Vincent P. Clark
Dr. Clark’s research areas are: (1) an examination of brain correlates of mental disorders such as drug and alcohol dependence and schizophrenia, and (2) use of brain stimulation methods such as TDCS to improve cognition and learning in healthy people, and to treat symptoms of brain and mental illness. Projects currently underway in the PCNC include the use of brain stimulation to enhance decision making, learning and memory, and such tasks as spelling and object detection, in healthy subjects, and improving cognition in young adults with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and schizophrenia.
Aaron Jones: Aaron grew up in Houston, though he's been in New Mexico for a long time (he considers himself a native New Mexican) and earned his BA in Psychology from THE University of New Mexico. After graduating, he ran two units at a residential psychiatric treatment center for mentally ill youth. He then went on to get his Special Education Teaching License, and taught at a charter school catering to those same youth he had mentored as a behavioral health professional. He was preparing for lecture one day, when he saw Dr. Clark's TED talk on non-invasive brain stimulation and its promise to accelerate learning and treat brain disorders, so he decided to get his PhD studying how to improve brain function using non-invasive electrical methods, like transcranial direct and alternating current stimulation (tDCS/tACS).
Aaron has a particular interest in Neuroimaging (EEG, MEG, fMRI), cognitive enhancement using non-invasive brain stimulation, learning and memory, sleep and sleep-dependent memory consolidation, physiological predictors of cognitive state. and and wants to help people evaluate situations and make better and faster decisions.
When Aaron is not in the lab, he takes long walks with his dogs, Anansi ("Z") and Felix. He also enjoys camping, hiking, and other outdoorsy things.

Bradley Robert: Bradley has lived in New Mexico for 25 years where he has a wife and 3 children. He earned his BS in Psychology from THE University of New Mexico in 2017. As an undergraduate he volunteered as a research assistant on a project investigating memory consolidation during sleep using transcranial stimulation, which led to an interest in non-invasive stimulation modalities, neuroimaging techniques such as EEG, and learning and memory.
Bradley is specifically interested in how the human brain interacts with non-invasive forms of neuromodulation (such as transcranial electrical stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation, transcranial ultrasound stimulation, and photobiomodulation) with a focus on network level functional improvements. His current work involves investigating closed-loop transcranial alternating current stimulation to modulate post-sleep encoding, he has also been working on a project using transcranial ultrasound stimulation (TUS) to modulate response inhibition.
When Brad is not in the lab (LOL) he is spending time with his wife and kids, playing with his dogs, and enjoying the beautiful Sandia mountains.

Benjamin Gibson: Ben studies the basic neuroscience underlying different forms of non-invasive brain stimulation, specifically transcranial direct current stimulation and transcranial ultrasound stimulation, and how individual differences can impact the efficacy of non-invasive brain stimulation interventions. He grew up in northern New Jersey and earned his BA in Urban Studies & Planning from California State University Northridge. After graduating, Ben worked in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, until resolving to return to school and complete a post-baccalaureate psychology program at the University of California, Irvine. Ben moved to Albuquerque to begin graduate school in the summer of 2017.
